Delhi Bharatiya Chikitsa Parishad is a statutory body established by Government of NCT of Delhi under the provisions of Delhi Bharatiya Chikitsa Parishad Act, 1998 for granting registration to qualified Ayurvedic and Unani practitioners and for maintaining a State Register of such registered Ayurvedic and Unani practitioners.
A duly constituted Parishad consists of 21 members out of which 11 members are nominated by the Government and ten members are elected from amongst the practitioners of Ayurveda and Unani. The tenure of a thus constituted Parishad is five years.
The practitioners are registered subject to possessing any of the qualification as mentioned in the second, third or fourth schedule to the Indian Medicine Central Council Act, 1970. Registration with Parishad is mandatory for practicing Indian System of Medicine (Ayurveda & Unani) in NCT of Delhi.
